It could come from early American folklore, or it could be a Louisiana myth. Make a piece about that myth or culture. Remember that this piece also has to be about a specific food. Choose a food appropriate for your myth or specific to that culture..
And/or...
2. Choose an artist ( it could be a painter, sculptor, architect, ceramic artist, etc.) and make a piece in the style of that artist. Think about mood, color palette, gesture, etc.
The evaluation of these pieces will involve the use of them. For the critique you must bring thefood and/or beverage you have chosen, and serve them out of you pieces. Consider how your pieces can go beyond the ordinary cup, bowl, plate and make the experience of eating something unusual or special. Remember that a range of emotions and expression can be communicated through the use of these pieces, in other word s your piece need not be food safe, traditional, or user-friendly although they will be used. The places where our hand s and/or mouths tough the pieces will be especially important as will the weight and scale of the pieces.
Utilize surface to enhance the theme or concept (in relation to your food and/or beverage of choice). The surface you apply to each of these objects is up to you. Your surfaces may mimic those of your found object if you choose, but they may also be invented.
